Gnutella Clients Question

In the last few days, I have tried Morpheus, iMesh, BearShare, Kazaa and LimeWire Pro (Which I purchased, the other 4 were the freeware versions.)

I found that I got regular hits and uploads on my shared files in iMesh, BearShare and Kazaa, and got ZERO hits in LimeWire Pro and Morpheus. I was disappointed with LimeWire to say the least.

None of the clients showed any results when I searched for my own files, and I ussed the same files for each client. I tried each client both by itself, and simultaneously with the other clients, with the same results.

If these clients are basically the same, does anyone have any idea why some work and others apparently do not?

I have a Linksys BEFSR41 router which I have configured for port forwarding. Both BearShare and LimeWire show the incoming searches, which is a great feature. BearShare shows the actual hits on the shared files which is great also, but although I show incoming searches in LimeWire, some of which should hit on my files, I never see any uploads (in LimeWire).

I would very much appreciate any input on this odd behavior so I can rectify whatever problem there might be.

Thanks!

different host cache

LimeWire, Morpheus and others use different host cache, maybe that s the reason why you have different result.
