Default Gnutella Clients Reset Computer

I have a Pentium 200 running Windows 95. While I never had a problem with Napster or older Morpheus, I cannot for the life of me get any Gnutella programs to work anymore.
I've tried Shareaza and Kaza Lite. Both would not connect no matter what I tried.
Morpheus PE and Gnuclues would actually connect to the network... but eventually would either lock up my whole system or spontainiously restart my computer. At first I thought I was just cursed, but my parents' computer (Pentium 266, Win 95) has the exact same problems. Is it Windows 95? I have Gnucleus for Win 95, but it still doesn't work. I'm at my wits end. Please help.
Thanks.

Artemis

While I don't consider myself an expert on Windows 95, I do recall a fair amount of compatability issues with Win 95. Several things come to mind but most relate to it being an older, less compatable OS. I would seriously consider moving to Windows 98se or 2000 if you can come up with a license or XP failing that.... due to the likely age of your system you may find you do not have enough memory to function well with a newer OS. I think in Wi*** Microsoft specified 24 meg as the minimum but it really was sluggish below 64 meg and I would recommend 128 or 256 from my own experience. But I do think you nailed it ... it is probably related to Windows 95.

Two things for Windows 95:

1) Make sure you have installed the Winsock 2 update (see Microsoft's Website). The older Winsock version originally installed with Windows 95 has a memory leak.

2) Keep the number of allowed incoming and outgoing connections low. If you allow too many Gnutella connections, or upload connections, Windows 95 is not able to handle them well.
