aimster

I havent been able to try it because I keep getting errors reported at startup and after many troubleshooting attempts. Nor have they responded to emails. Check their forums and you will see other frustrated users receiving no help.

I used it a few months back before I tried gnutella. I remember being so impressed with the gnutella network that I thought Aimster was a joke in comparison. The content was extremely limited and you were far more likely to upload than download. I'm all for sharing, but it was way out of whack. There were a lot of serious errors in the program too, at that time. On the plus side, you had a username and could chat. There was a buddy list, too.

Still, we should keep all avenues open - I'm half-tempted to try it again. I'll have to d/l the latest version.

Aimster update! I just tried the latest version and it sucks hand-over-fist! Seemingly random crashes, limited library returns and no resume on incomplete d/ls - But don't take my word for it, try it!
