keep connections active

Friends,
I'm new to lime wire. I was concerned about turning off my computer while members are uploading files. I have my PC in my bedroom, and I can't keep in on at night because the harddrive fan is too loud for sleeping. My internet connection is the Cox high speed network. The cox network is always active, even when I turn off the PC. So my question is, when I close limewire, without manually disconnecting from it, exit limewire and turn off the PC would other members up loads still be active thru my Cox network? If this is not the case, then what shutdown procedures are recommended that would not mess up other members uploads. As I have entire music albums in my shared files, the upload time can take a while. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

Naturally it would be better for the network, if you didn't shut down your computer, but since it is in your bedroom, just shut it down.

The other members will be able to begin their downloads where they left them as soon as you start your computer again (as long as you have a static IP, else they will have to search again, or select "search for more sources", but then they will again be able to continue where they were before).

Simply first exit LimeWire then shut down your Computer.

I think it great that you think about those who download from you. If everybody acted that way, we'd have far faster downloads for everyone.

best wishes to you!
