| WASTE! - from the Creator of Gnutella http://www.nik.com.au/waste/ The guy who created Nullsoft WinAmp up to version 5.0 and ShoutCast and the original Gnutella code has released (May 2003) WASTE a SECURE chat and SECURE filesharing program! Nullsoft WASTE WASTE is a software product and protocol that enables secure distributed communication for small (on the order of 10-50 nodes) trusted groups of users. WASTE is designed to enable small companies and small teams within larger companies to easily communicate and collaborate in a secure and efficient fashion, independent of physical network topology. -- Lets hear some discussion on this. It seems like a good idea to reverse engineer this code and get it into the hands of open-source coders so SECURITY could be introduced into Gnutella clients. What do you think? Does anyone agree? Anyone Disagree? |

| That makes sense. WASTE For small private groups, and Gnutella for large public. Hmmmm..... well I guess I'm still curious about one more thing. Security in general for Gnutella clients. Is it happening? If so, then which clients, on what time-frames, and what type of security is being added. If not, then why? Anyone have information or a thought on this? - Cougar |
