Linksys Router/Cable Modem/Firewall - Newbie Question
 

I am new to the network and to broadband. I would like some guidance for setting up my Linksys router so I can share out my files without compromising my home network security. If anyone has a similar set up, I would appreciate any help you can provide.

I get the impression that the explanation jumps around a little bit from one subject to another and doesn't quite tie everything together in a practical way. Perhaps this is the same problem as others are having.

Can anyone help with this?

I would also be interested in the best setup. I am running the wonderful router at work and would like to use gnutella morpheus and the like without compromising security. I did notice that Linksys now combined with Zone Alarm... this seems to be running properly... I need to get fully licensed still, however I always thought running zone alarm on top of the etherfast router was redundant and wasted resources. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
