Avatars are easy to insert in LimeWire. Just look at mine!

Just over a week ago Avatar size allowance was increased to please the members. So instead of 50 pixel max it can now be 80, & instead of 20 KB can now be 40 KB. You can thank et voilà for making the recommendation & me for changing it. ;) :p

But as a sacrifice, [IMG] tags in signatures might be banned in the near future to stop trolling of the forums.

CyberStalker August 23rd, 2005 02:00 PM

What are [img] tags? What do they do?
And thanks to you and et voila for making changes on the avatars!

Lord of the Rings August 23rd, 2005 02:11 PM

IMG tags in signatures are like this one http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/8...flytrap4zy.gif lol :D

ie: [URL=http://...[IMG]http://img...] within member signatures. This might sound severe but it's been abused by a recent Troll. That proved the point that img tags are potentially dangerous to the forum & can be misused & abused. Instead other sig pics could be used.

(BTW CyberStalker if need be i can edit yours for you. So then you can load it up as a giF.)

CyberStalker August 23rd, 2005 07:12 PM

What info do you need, LOTR? I don't want to lose my signature picture. How will I be able to put a picture in my signature if there's no IMG codes? As you can see, I'm not familiar with this kind of stuff.

Well, let's see what the new updated version of vBulletin offers us. I already have a copy of your avatar. It's actually only very small in size so I won't need to edit it anyway. So, at this point I'm not sure whether you'd be able to load it as part of your sig or as an avatar or as an attachment. We'll need to wait & see what options there are. I can post the gif to you.

Which image do you have a copy of. The flytrap that's under my name or the animated one in my signature? If you are referring to the animated one will it still stay as an animated pic after the changes vBulletin has made if it's kept in my signature? And how will we be able to insert pictures in our signatures if we cannot use IMG codes? Will it be changed so that there will be two options for inserting them like the way vBulletin has set up the avatars? When placing an avatar under your name it gives you two options: 1. typing in the website that the picture is found in or 2. by browsing your own Pictures files and inserting it that way.

Could you ask the moderators to change the signatures so that pictures can be put in the same way as the avatars? They'll listen to you before they would me.

If possible, could you post the .gif to me via private message? I'd prefer to get it that way.

As I said, we'll need to see what options the new version has & whether images can be uploaded from your computer as sigs. As far as your sig at the moment goes, yes I have an animated gIF version of it & it's only 12 KB in size so I could email it to you. (Can't send attachments via pm.) No need to panic at this stage. We'll see what the new version has to offer. Sample below of what I have:
