RIAA/Government I searched "Hacking tools" on Limewire yesterday. I did this because I enjoy looking into the depths of electronic devices, and I had no intention of using them illegally. I was stupid and didn't check the file size and got an empty folder. I am sure whoever is currently tracing my computer did not know my intentions. I am sure someone is tracing me because whenever I open LimeWire, the amount of files I am sharing is close to 600. Before I searched for hacking programs, I was sharing around 55-60 files. I do understand that most people who search for such tools are criminals, so the government/RIAA/whoever has my IP and is monitering my movements even as I type this, probably thinks I am a thief. I do not want to go to jail for something I never intended to do. Now, please do not take me for paranoid, as I am only trying to protect my freedom to live without juvinile parole. Thank you for your time, and your feedback and advice would be greatly appreciated. Honestly, Nerflad EDIT: Ultrapeer IS off. |
no need for paranoia--sounds like you picked up a virus like many others who reported a sudden jump in the # of shared files. see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=39612 for solutions or more help. |
what exactly is the RIAA? besides we're not stealing anything well not me anyway (i paid for a music website membership) technically we're just sharing -maybe they missed that one in kindergarten. but God forbid the the rich musicians miss out on every dollar spent on them. |

I deleted all the files in the Uploads folder, then found the hidden ones, and deleted those too. Shared files is down to 93. |
