Coxblocked?

I can't find much information about this, so I was hoping you folks would have the story...

I read something about cox selectivey "Blocking filesharing protocols"... instead of blocking ports..

No one hardly ever downloads from me

YUP! i heard that Cox blocked the P2P..... most company starting doing this.

Most company dont want to be sued for providing a information to RIAA/MPAA about that their comsumer is being sued.

I download well and fine and all..
I wonder, will they open it up for me if I ask them to?
I am authorized to share all of the files I have got and want to do so.

Hmm, I'm also on COX and I'm having problems uploading to other users...

What market are you in?

In the Eureka area, p2p is impossible. Torrents never hit above 4kB/s...

I'm in San Diego, I didn't think they were doing it here but now...

I am in a godforsaken Midwest Kansas

For what it's worth, this only happens on g1 clients for me... and on Shareaza it seems to happen less, I still get barely any uploads but most of them actually finish.

Most of my files are smaller (<200kB).

I don't want to be seen as a bad sharer... but I don't think it's my fault that my downloads go great and my uploads suck and I've done everything on my end that I can to fix it.

This doesn't seem to affect ED2K at all. I haven't seen much of a problem in bittorrent either.

See see that is what I am saying, I do my best to share files but hardly anyone downloads from me.
Right now I am connected through a proxy server and it still is the same with not many uploads.

Well, the traffic is still going over the COX network.

To test this, hook your PC up at a friend's house where they aren't using COX.

And that is the whole story,
Right...

They've got the protocal all but blocked, eh?

That's very much how I understand it to work.

Traffic shaping/filtering on the upload side of G1.

It's like this on Bittorrent in the COX Eureka/Goleta markets... but the download AND upload side are borked. All connections are aborted almost IMMEDIATELY after they're made, and it's impossible to get any speed even reaching 56k speeds on a torrent.
