Ping Snooping from mp3.com? My firewall logs are showing pings from within the mp3.com network ( 208.48.67.12, 208.48.67.17, 208.48.67.60 and so on) I searched google.com with those addresses, and I see that other people are being pinged too. If I don't run a Gnutella client for a while, the pings slack off to once a day. Right now, I'm logging several a minute. Since MP3.com belongs to some label (Vivendi Universal) I am suspicious of their intent. Perhaps RIAA or Vivendi or mp3.com are trying to keep track of people using Gnutella? |
And then? What they could do? Arrest us all? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.....HAH! :p |
uhh, maybe some of the people there just use gnutella... wouldn't these be consistent with that? |
maybe they're trying to find out how well their artists are doing, and what better way to determine popularity than by counting a track's appearances on gnutella? |
Yes, this is surely more likely than a trial against us all. Eheh... |
