HOW-TO: run light-weight clients

I am interested in using light-weight non-java/.NET gnutella clients, eg:

gnutella 0.56 (http://www.vrhome.com/file/gnutel056.exe or http://www.zoom.idg.pl/ftp/pc_681/Gnutella%200.56a.html)

Xolox
Gnucleus

Somehow Xolox hangs on my WinXP SP2. Gnucleus can't even find any hosts? And gnutella 0.56 requires manually entering hosts. Just wondering if anyone knows whether gnutella 0.56 would still work with current gnutella network or has gnutella network protocol changed so much? And where can I get these gnutella hosts?

Gnutella 0.56 won't work anymore because the protocol has moved ahead to 0.6
and current hosts drop connection as soon as they detect it's an obsolete version.

Just got Gnucleus working. It feels and reminds me of original Gnutella 0.56. Very light weight, easy to use and has advanced features like node graphing, etc.

Very cool.
