Default help please!!! (codec issues)

Hi - new to this so probably going to look really stupid! I can download music and play fine but can't get films to play - keeps telling me i don't have correct codec - how do i know what codec i need and how do i get it AAAAAH!!!!! Please someone help.

Download the K-Lite Codec Pack.

You could also try another Media Player.

Hi

Thanks - downloaded as you suggested - now it asks me to download domplayer which i have done as well but although have registration code etc it still says i need domplayer - do really feel like i am going mad - hesitate to say i need a man!!!!!

No I am determined to sort this out. Thanks for your help - let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Paula, Sorry you're having so much trouble.

Try VLC Player mentioned in the Link I gave you above. It has codec's built in and will play most files.

Uninstall DomPlayer ASAP. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!!!! Read Link Below.

Oh why am I so impatiant. Should have waited for your reply - paid them already - will now try to uninstall!!!! Thank you so much for putting up with me - I can't believe I am being so stupid - I usually cope quite well with things like this - just have new computer with Vista opn and hate it - everything always worked when I had xp. Never mind I am sure I will get there in the end. I think the version of Alvin and the Chipmunks was a fake porn film which was why I couldn't open it thanks god!!!
Deleted that too.
