Private Network over Gnutella Hi. Im wondering wether it is possiple to set up a small, private filesharing network using Gnutella? If it is, how? - if not, can someone recommend an application where it is possiple, preferable with a linux server hosting the serversoftware. So far, I have tried a few clients, among the best were Direct Connect, but the program is very unstable. Thanks. Factory |
Re: Private Network over Gnutella Bearshare already creates it's own network while leeching off the other clients that connect from the "outside". If you want something dependable, stick with microsoft products. Every new version of windows fixes one bug so it's worth the $90 each time. ;) Quote:

I am not sure if i understand your question... but Gnotella has an option for making a private network. Try version 1.0.5 or 1.2.0 (beta) |
If you use a Gnutella client you do not need a server for all gnutella clients are server and client All you need are the ip adresses from the other members and connect to them. Phex can be used to setup a private network |
