Use me as a static host cache!!
24.234.19.159:6347
This is a static IP and should be good for a long time!
I put it on an old computer so I never will turn it off.
About 1500 files on there too.

New project site at Sourceforge! "Official" home page
http://opensourcep2p.sourceforge.net/

Project page is
http://sourceforge.net/projects/opensourcep2p/

Thanks for participating in the new OpenSource P2P Net!

Note: If you lose all connections, type a IP from the forum into the "Connections Advanced" box and click "Add". Once you type the IP in it will stay in the little box and you can just click "Add" again if you lose it again. Stick with it!

static host cache not passing many hosts

Hi, the static host cache isn't giving me many hosts - 1 or two every hour or two. And they usually don't stick, so usually the host cache is the only host on my list.

It is obviously passing my search requests far and wide, because I get a lot of decent search results and upload occaisionally, but I think ultimately we need some better software for a cache.

I wonder if you can try several different clients and see if different ones give away more hosts?

It gets better as more people connect. Stick with it!

Kudos to whoever put up a static IP server at 24.234.19.159:6347
very handy! (and still up) Thanks!
And thanks to Simeon for providing a Linux version!

Keep posting those IPs here because the static one may go down! Anyone else have a static IP or cable modem connection?
Stick with it!

Great work Annon! Keep on your good work!

About more host caches. When your PC is online 24/7 with dynamic IP (DSL) then use a dynDNS... e.g. http://www.no-ip.com/. Now you have a steady host address (e.g. mynickname.no-ip.com) even when your IP changes, tell this hostname your friends. It works on Windows, Linux, BSD and it's free.

Hope it helps, Moak
