Gnutella protocol specification

Dear all,

I'm a phd student and I'm working with p2p networks. I would like to get the specification of the protocol, I found a link in the next wiki but seems that it does not work: Official LimeWire Website - Lime Wire

Furthermore, if you know a journal/conference paper about Gnutella protocol I would like to know it to be able to cite it.

Best regards

P.d: I appologize if this section of the forum is not the best for this issue.

I guess there was 'sort of' a similar question asked recently. See if http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...urce-code.html is of assistance at all. :) Perhaps your question is a little more general re: the protocol itself, which had me with juggling thoughts whether to move your thread-posting to this section or the one just above it. :)

I'm sure Arne_Bab will be happy to help if he visits the forums again soon (outside of other commitments.) Else someone else might help. ;)

Edit: I moved the thread to a more general section.

Thank you for your answer, but I would like to have a explanation of the protocol instead of the source code.

I read in some papers that Gnutella used a Breath First Search (BFS) with Time to Live (TTL); I think that Gnutella was the first in using TTL. Reading here seems that it has been improved.

I found some information.

I post it, maybe it would be useful in the case that someone is searching the same information.

I can give you a link to the Gnutella2 specs, but I am not sure whether this will help you or not: G2 - Quazaa
