What am I doing wrong? I can't install limewire Hello I have just downloaded version 2.3 and tried to install it. Unfortunately it didn't work. java -version java version "1.3.1_03" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1_03-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1_03-b03, mixed mode) Java seems to be ok, doesn't it? Here are the error messages: ./LimeWireLinux.bin Preparing to install... Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive... Configuring the installer for this system's environment... Launching installer... Error: Unrecognized JVM specific option `-Xmx50331648'. Error: Unrecognized JVM specific option `-Xms16777216'. Many thanks Ed PS. I am running LM 8.1 with kernel-2.4.17 |
Simplest solution if the installer won't work, is to download LimeWire for Linux without installer from http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download_other . Simply untar the archive and start LimeWire. (The java installer sucks, it works on my computer only every second or third time I try it and tends to freeze in the middle of the installation without even creating an error message.) |
