!help! Off Subject But I Need Help! Plz!

lol... just to let you know I'm a super newbie to linux, anyways I have linux redhat v7.3, and I have Soundblaster LIVE!, I was having errors with the sound server and it had to use the null output, so I went to the console I typed "setup" went to sound configuration, it said I needed to change my pnp os to no in my bios so I changed the OS in my bios from win2000 to other and it detected my LIVE! sound card plus my other graphics card so I said yes to everything, then it got to the monitor config, i tried every option you know with the 8bit, 16bit, 24 bit thingy, and the x server said it had problems, so I said just skip it, it continued to load linux and now after loading everything it goes to the no GUI(like DOS) login screen, and blinks constantly it won't let me type anything so I rebooted it and same thing happens even after I change it back to win2000, so I'm lost, if anyone can help me it would be GREAAAAATLY HELPFUL, Thanks =)

Thanks in advance,
SED

Dude ... sorry about the tardieness of this post ... but if it were me ... I'd just reinstall redhat ... but for your further postings of this soft ... LinuxNewbie.org is a great place to start when you are having troubles. Obviously, your redhat box is a spare or second ... welcome to Linux ... happy learning ... its an adventure.

What Bobo says. Don't even know if you're still around after all this time OTazman, but just in case:

1. Reinstall - ensure your're not using a hardware accelerated Xfree86 (you can always change it later) - and see if that helps.
2. LinuxNewbie.org is a great resource, also, check out Mandrake User Board at http://www.club-nihil.net/mub/ - there is tons of information there on problems of this nature, most of which is useful no matter which distribution you use.
