Configuring the installer for this system's environment... Launching installer... Error: could not find libjava.so Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment. regardless of the fact that I have libjava.so installed and ldconfig -p show me: $sudo ldconfig -p | grep java libzip.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libzip.so libverify.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libverify.so librmi.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/librmi.so libnio.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libnio.so libnet.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libnet.so libmlib_image.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libmlib_image.so libkjava.so.1 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libkjava.so.1 libjvm.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/server/libjvm.so libjvm.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so libjsound.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjsound.so libjsig.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjsig.so libjsig.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/server/libjsig.so libjsig.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/client/libjsig.so libjpeg.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjpeg.so libjdwp.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjdwp.so libjcov.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjcov.so libjawt.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjawt.so libjavaplugin_jni.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjavaplugin_jni.so libjava.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so libjava.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/libjava.so libjaas_unix.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libjaas_unix.so libioser12.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libioser12.so libhprof.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libhprof.so libfontmanager.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libfontmanager.so libdt_socket.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libdt_socket.so libdcpr.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libdcpr.so libcmm.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libcmm.so libawt.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libawt.so libJdbcOdbc.so (libc6, hwcap: 0x1000000000000) => /usr/lib/sun-java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/jre/lib/i386/libJdbcOdbc.so I did have some problems with a few of the shared object libraries being registered with ld.so so it could be due to some binary incompatibility that I am not aware of. $ ld --version GNU ld version 2.13.90.0.4 20020814 Debian GNU/Linux Copyright 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This program has absolutely no warranty. if anyone has any suggestions let me know btw I am running debian sid (which is termed as unstable mostly this is a misnomer as it has crashed less than most other distro's) Thanks in advance |
