Java/LimeWire installation Alright guys. I'm posting here because I'm a real Linux newbie, and I don't have any friends who can help me out.. I'll give you what information I have, and hopefully you'll be able to help me through this. It's probably pretty simple. OK, so LimeWire gives me the message that I need a Java Virtual Machine in order to run it. I download j2re-1_3_1_05-linux-i586.bin to /home/matthew and type sh ./j2re-1_3_1_05-linux-i586.bin. Alright. I go through the whole agreement thingy. It decompresses and installs. So now I have a folder named jre1.3.1_05 under /home/matthew, and I try to install LimeWire again. Same deal. 1)Did I even get the right Java .bin file? 2)Am I supposed to install the Java into a different folder with root, or what? Thanks. |
I found an answer for what to do right here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=13350 I have no idea what that did, however, and I'd like to learn... Can you explain, please? Thanks |
