JRE not working I've been trying to install LimeWireOther.zip on my linux with JRE 1.3.1. To install the .bin file, i went into a shell propmt and typed sh ./j2re-1_3_1-linux-i386.bin, and it seemed to install everything. It had me review the license, then it created a folder in my home dir called jre1.3.1. Everything seemed to go fine, except when i type java -classpath LimeWireOther.zip -install from any sort of prompt (shell, terminal, ect) it doesnt work. It says "Bash: command java not recognized". i'm a linux n00b and any help is appreciated. |
jre installation This is what worked for me. Go to the directory that the file "LimeWireOther.zip" is in and type: /usr/java/jre1.3.1/bin/java -classpath LimeWireOther.zip install Hope that works for ya |
Hey I had the same problem with the guy you just helped. But I used an RPM instead of a zip. I typed sh runlime.sh and nothing happened. It says it doesn't recognize the java command. Then I tried the java -cp (filename) command and it didn't work. Do you think you could help? |
