Hey All,
It's interesting reading some of the threads from people trying to install the new build (1.6b) of LimeWire. While I've gotten LimeWire to run, my problem is that I can't run it from anything but a console command line. Firstly, I had to install using the command "/usr/java/jre1.3.1/bin/java -cp . RunLime" (ie, pathing to my Java JRE 1.3.1 install). No major drama - LimeWire fired up and I was away. The problem is that, unless I run that exact command from an Xterm (GTerm, Eterm, etc) LimeWire wont run. I created a launcher for GNOME 1.4 with the above command line in it, but it wont actually run the damned thing. Likewise, I edited the runlime.sh file to reflect the path the my JRE 1.3.1 install, but that wont run either. I don't know if anyone's experienced the same problem, but if I launch LimeWire from an Xterm, it spits out a few "Font specified in font.properties not found" errors before it loads. I can't help but think that this is the reason it wont run in anything but an Xterm (where it can print these messages). Any suggestions? Thanks, Hummer |
