Install and general Java question

Hey All,

It's interesting reading some of the threads from people trying to install the new build (1.6b) of LimeWire. While I've gotten LimeWire to run, my problem is that I can't run it from anything but a console command line.

Firstly, I had to install using the command "/usr/java/jre1.3.1/bin/java -cp . RunLime" (ie, pathing to my Java JRE 1.3.1 install). No major drama - LimeWire fired up and I was away.

The problem is that, unless I run that exact command from an Xterm (GTerm, Eterm, etc) LimeWire wont run. I created a launcher for GNOME 1.4 with the above command line in it, but it wont actually run the damned thing. Likewise, I edited the runlime.sh file to reflect the path the my JRE 1.3.1 install, but that wont run either.

I don't know if anyone's experienced the same problem, but if I launch LimeWire from an Xterm, it spits out a few "Font specified in font.properties not found" errors before it loads. I can't help but think that this is the reason it wont run in anything but an Xterm (where it can print these messages).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hummer
