Connection Problem with BT Broadband

Hi all,

I'm using SUSE 9.1, BT Broadband in Scotland, Limewire 4.0.8 and a BT Voyager 205 ADSL router.

When I try to connect, Limewire only gets a really week connection or none. After a couple of minutes, it says, "your computer seems to have no connection to the web". But there is an internet connection...

Any thoughts? Ports on the Firewall or anything else?

There are a number of things you can check:
-do you have a firewall?
->is it configured to allow LW to access the net?
-do you have a router?
->is it configured to allow LW to access the net?
-are you trying to connect from home?
-does your ISP throttle P2P?

do I have to register? January 19th, 2005 04:49 PM

Not sure whether BT's your problem, but I'd strongly advice changing your ISP if you can - I've used BT & Tiscali - they both suck: slow and unreliable as hell. zen is the best available in the UK, imo - or the Bulldog 4mbps offer if you're in central london
