apologies for not being more specific. At startup limewire notified me that (for some unspecified reason) daap failed to load, and that to enable it i should just enable it throught the options menu. I tried this, and when i hit 'apply', the checkbox became unchecked. If i check it and hit ok it just closes, but daap does not appear to be active. Upon reloading limewire i get the same error.

I cant seem to find any log files that log such exceptions - the err.txt file complains about some gtk issues (im using java 1.5), but nothing else. I can see at least one other exception being thrown; something about Simpp... and simpp.xml file not being found. I can't be more specific as im at work, but if you have any suggestions let me know.

Thanks!

At home now - interestingly enough, when I enable daap now, it works. I did not change anything...

Could you PLEASE try to reproduce and post more details about that exception? It is extremely important. Thank you.

Sure thing. I have attached a stderr capture - the stack trace is of the exceptions thrown _every time_ i start limewire. Need anything else let me know.

In the event that it makes a difference I should add that i don't use the limewire installer. I create slackware linux packages of limewire, thus it's easier for me to use the bland tar ball (LimeWireLinux.tgz).

Is there a simpp.xml file in your ~/.limewire directory?

Also, please generate an error report and paste the output here. You can do that by Tools->Options->Bug Reports->View Example.

Thanks for your help

No, I have no such file; even after nuking my ~/.limewire dir and running limewire.

--ps
I'm not sure what you want me to do with the example bug report. No notification is given that anything went wrong, I just happened to notice it when running from a term.

Default panic mode=off

Don't worry about this.. its nothing serious. For now you can use the "runLimeWire" installed in your home directory and it will not show this error. In the meantime we'll look into fixing those messages.

Thanks for the help,
zab
