iptables router interfearing with ultrapeer? Hello- I have found that after my server's uptime being a couple of days, I can run Limwire and instantly become an ultrapeer. Well, my uptime is about 4 days right now, and I have ran Limewire and have become a leaf. Also, I have made my own Linux router, and I think that I may have forgotten something in the iptables script, and may be causing this to happen. The server runs Slackware Linux 10. The router also runs Slackware 10. The iptables script that my router uses is here- http://badger.homelinux.org:8080/~jim/iptables There is more to it (like configuring ip packet forwarding) that is in a different script, but that doesn't need to be posted here. Thanks -Jim |
Limewire needs an open TCP and UDP port to function optimally. You should add a rule that opens/forwards port 6346 both tcp and udp to the box where limewire is running. Limewire may be listening on a different port -check the settings to see which one. |
Hello- I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do that. -Jim |
