Having trouble... I am new to linux... I am using the RedHat Fedora version of it. I have installed Java onto my system and I am now tryin to get Limewire to install. I've downloaded the .zip file in the "Other" link and the .rpm for linux. I go to install it and get the error in the terminal saying "error: can't create transaction lock." Im not sure what to do there... any help would be appreciated. CTASA |
in order to install RPM files you need to become root first. To do that type "su" and supply your root password. |
I have and still no luck. it either says it is installed or it isn't. but i found the file that it "installed" and im not sure how to run it now. |
[james@- james]$ su Password: [root@- james]# rpm -q LimeWireLinux.rpm package LimeWireLinux.rpm is not installed [root@- james]# rpm -i LimeWireLinux.rpm package LimeWire-free-4.8.1-0 is already installed [root@- james]# |
I just updated the sticky post on the top of this thread with instructions how to get Limewire running after this point. |
