Download from Server instead of my computer

I have a lot of movies that are on my unix web server

I want to share them

is there a way to share them from my web server instead of downloading them all to my personal computer?

thanks for the help in advance....

If your personal computer is Linux you will need to set up NFS or Coda on the UNIX server (if it isn't already) to share directories. Then you will mount the directory from Linux and share it the same way you do other directories in Limewire. There is a How-To for NFS here.

anyway to make this work?

XP Professional can seeSAMBA shares on a UNIX server. I don't think its supported with Home Edition, but I haven't done enough with SAMBA to know much more. I assume there is something preventing you from putting limewire on the UNIX server itself.

do mean there is something in the program preventing me from installing it

or are you saying

you think I have a restriction
I own the server so I can do what ever I need to if it is possible

I thought you had a restriction. AFAIK limewire will work on UNIX.
