Solution For All Mandrake Users This worked well for me after reading this forum and still having problems. I uninstalled Kaffe and nothing changed. I then uninstalled jre1.3.1_01-fcs and installed the j2re1.4 beta. Shazam! I ran the LimeWire file and everything works now. Also keep in mind that you'll need to create a new symbolic link in /usr/bin to the new java binary which will be in /usr/java/j2re*/bin/java. This fix is for people that were getting that LAX error. |
Well I had a similar sollution and I thought I'd post it here. I am using RedHat 7.2. I did the following. uninstalled kaffe with the following command rpm -e kaffe then I uninstalled jre rmp -e jre Then I reinstalled the 1.3.1_01 version rpm -Uiv jre* Then I made a symbolic link to the java in my java bin folder ln -s /usr/java/jre1.3.1_01/bin/java /usr/bin java after that everything seemed to work. Hope that helps some of you. |
thanks yo it wored on my redhat system too thanks alot |

ln -s /usr/java/jre1.3.1_01/bin/java /usr/bin Someone needs to contact LimeWire and have them add that to their faq!! |
