Suggestion for java problems... hey... i downloaded the latest release of limewire... and got similar problems that everybody else is saying in these forums... i then managed to find an older download (v1.6) and it installed and ran just find.... my suggestion... limewire post an older version as well as their new one, and they fix the new one soon... for those of u who have older downloads... good luck... for those who don't ... bad luck...lol |
Another suggestion Or you could use Java 1.3.1, not 1.3.1_01 the latest version. Works fine with RH 7.2 and Java 1.3.1 |
Sorry I meant RH 7.1. Also make sure your $PATH is set so to your java/bin directory. On mine it is /usr/java/jdk1.3.1/bin. You don't need to set CLASSPATH. I installed LW1.8-c on /usr/local/limewire and put in a symbolic link to the executable in /usr/local/bin so that all users can access run limwire. My shared folder is at /usr/share/media/Shared and incomplete folder is /usr/share/media/Incomplete. Need to give global access priviliges to these folders. And it runs perfectly. |
