I log in using something called a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection over my high speed internet connection. You don't need VPN but you will want to have at least a DSL internet connection.
Your Lotus Notes client has connection documents and location document in the advanced section on your personal address book. Location documents indicate where you are (i.e. Office, Island, Internet,...) This is on the bottom right of your screen. Connection documents establish the connection to your companies Lotus Notes server (Domino.) You need to have your Domino administrator set this up for you. They will also ask you what type of internet connection you have and if they are using a firewall, antivirus or VPN server then they need to be the people to do that for you. You have a good question but the answers really expose the security of your business network which I suggest not doing in any forum. Security in this case means the IP Address and/or name of your server. Try looking at www.lotususergroup.org. There are various Lotus User groups that you may benefit from locally as well if you need more tips. |
