Cannot Exit Program Running Ubuntu 8.04 Limewire 4.16.7 Java 1.6.0 Issue: unable to exit program from within program. i.e. must kill process using O/S There is not a way in limewire to end the programs process from within the program. I see one design issue, and one bug here. The design issue is that there is no way to exit the program from the file menu. There is a close option, but no quit option. The close option will close the window, but leave the program running. There "should" be a close and a quit option from the file menu. The bug is only identifiable when comparing to the Windows install. In the Windows install Limewire will display an icon in the system tray that, when right-clicked, will give the user the option to exit. In the Linux install there is no system tray icon. Due to the poor design in this area I currently have only one option to exit this program, which is to use Force Quit. Force Quit is not the ideal process for ending a program in any operating system. Please ensure that in the future you fix the design issue, and/or fix the work around so that users are able to properly exit the program. Thank you, |
