problems with installation

im somewhat new to linux. I have mandrake 8.1

I got the .bin file of limewire and java.

so I install Java in my 'downloads' directory. Then I try to do Limewire. It wont install, still wont detect java. Am I installing java in the wrong place? Im pretty sure I got the right version because I used the link at the limewire website. help please

First try reading the other posts - you might find how to solve your problem. Anyway you need to install java as root in the usr dir. Now read the other posts.
