I have not this problem on 10.1.4
Others would have reported this problem if it was common.

Search for limewire with sherlock and delete the preferences that are not in your limewire folder.

Give it a try

Default same behaviour

Sometimes it quits, sometimes it minimizes the window into the dock. If the latter happens, only a force-quit shuts it down.

Kill downloads, kill uploads and then shut down. The icon will go to the doc and will disappear in 4 seconds.

Talking

In 10.1.4, Limewire won't quit if you are uploading or downloading files. Cancel downloads/uploads and then quit.

Thumbs up

I am using Limewire on 10.1.4 no problems, so long as no download or upload taking place. Use command and Q program quits every time.

In the prefs you can choose to shut down immeadiatly or after all transfers are complete. Tell it to shut down immeadiatly and your problem is solved.

My problem isn't quitting it, though, it's keeping it running. The grass is always greener.
