Well, people probably aren't sharing enough, to allow for faster downloads. LimeWire could handle speeds of 100K+ without any problems.

YMMV. I'm more likely to complete a download when I'm able to get multiple hosts, and it generally is faster.

OTOH, today I completed a d/l from a single host that I started yesterday. It was coming thru at about 2kps, then stopped. When it restarted today, it flew thru at 92 kps!

Default Downloads - glacial...

My experience with downloads in LimeWire 2.4.4--on a 400mhz G3 machine, running 10.1.5, with a cable connection--has been mixed so far: speeds seem to vary between the utterly ridiculous (under 1kb/sec) and the just barely acceptable (around the 30kb/sec mark). Most, however, have been closer to the bottom of that scale.

Perhaps I'm not familiar enough with the software as yet to have tweaked it correctly for best performance; or maybe I've just been unlucky, but I'd have to say that I'm not really much impressed with LimeWire's performance so far.

You're not alone, Brother Big.

Many of us are fighting this and other bugaboos indigenous to LimeWire.
