LimeWire and iTunes On my old operating system, OS9, when I downloaded a song, all I had to do was click "launch" and it went directly into itunes. Now with OSX, limewire has it's own player so pressing launch doesn't take the song into itunes. How do I get the song into itunes now? |
Hello! Try this: Go To: Tools>Options>Player here disable LW player and then click the apply button then OK. Now shut down LW and the re start it again and the Launch button should be working fine. |
When I do this, it takes the songs straight to the quicktime player :( How can I get the songs to go directly to itunes? |
You have to set iTunes as your default mp3 player. You can do this in iTunes. Open iTuens, go to Preferences, Click the General tab, and click Set for Use iTunes for Internet Playback. Then when you use Limewire, you can just double click a completed file either in the Search window or in the Library and it will play in iTunes automatically, as well as automatically adding the file to your Library. Be sure you have deselected the Limewire player in your Limewire Preferences. |
To kiwi Thanks a lot! I had the same question and thanks to you and the other member I was able to put my Limewire songs into my iTunes! I used to have to do it through Sherlock, but not anymore! Also, I have another question for anyone who could help me. I accidentally deleted my Sherlock program, and I need to know how to reinstall it without totally reinstalling everything on my HD and erasing everything! Thanks again! |
You're welcome--glad I could help :) As for Sherlock, you can probably reinstall it from the OS X disk---just do a custom install and install Sherlock only. However, I'm a little unclear on how you "deleted" Sherlock. Did you simply remove it from the Dock? Dragging the Sherlock Icon from the Dock does not the delete the program, it simply removed the alias from the Dock. You have to purposfully drag the Sherlock Icon from Applications to the Trash to delete it. So if you dragged it from the Dock only, you still have the program on your hard drive: just go to Home>>Applications and drag the Sherlock icon back to the Dock. If you did Trash Sherlock from Applications, then you will need to reinstall it. Before trying an install from the OS X disk like I suggested, however, I would go to the OS X discussion groups on the Apple home page and ask for help there. Or, if you're still under warranty or have the Apple Care Protection Plan (worth every penny, let me tell you!) then call Apple's tech support for help. |
Custom Installation Thank you for your help Theala. I just need to know now how to do the Custom Installation. I inserted the CD into my drive and searched through it, but i still don't know how to do the custom installation. Can you please help me? -Scott |
