Someone Help me! I'm trying to figure out how to get a program out of limewire and into my computer after I download it. I can't seem to figure it out!

After you have d/led a file it is on your computer all you have to do is find it.... it more than likely will be in the folder that limewire's default is.

I think the right path is:
C:\windows\shared <---- this is the default
type this in the adress bar of your Internet Explorer, or Windows Explorer.... both will work

if you changed the folder to where you save stuff you can find out what folder it is by going to "Tools" then "Options" on your Limewire Client

ciao

Umm...This is the Mac OS X forum, not Windoze. ;-)

What folder is designated as your download folder (or save directory) in Limewire's Preferences under the "Saving" option?
To open LimeWire's pref's go to the LimeWire->Preferences option. Once you figure that out, just find that same location in the Finder. Your files should be in there.

Another possibility is to switch to the "Library" tab in LimeWire. In the first column in the upper left there should be 2 or more folders, one named "Incomplete" and the others whatever you decided. Click on the shared folder (whatever you named it--not the "Incomplete" folder) and locate the file in there. Then double click on it or select it and click "Launch". This should open the appropriate program to deal w/ the downloaded file. For example, if the file ends in ".sit" it should launch Stuffit Expander, if it ends in ".dmg" or ".img" it should open w/ Disk Copy. Both of those apps are standard and should be in your Applications folder.

Hope this helps....

hey mdouma46 I am having a problem that maybe you could help me with...

I figured out to launch the file...for example, i downloaded pagemaker 7.0...but now I go and try to run it and I can't. Do you have any suggestions on how to make the programs work after they are downloaded? I have no trouble with mp3s or anything...this is just my first time with software.

Thanks
