MAC OS X Jaguar 10.2

Does LimeWire 2.5 work with the new mac Jaguar OS???

Unregistered August 25th, 2002 10:55 AM

Yes! and in my experience much faster as well

Unregistered August 31st, 2002 01:16 PM

Unfortunately not in my experience - will never connect...unless there's some ISP conspiracy to prevent P2P connections....

I am having the same problems connecting with 10.2 also! Has anyone else been able to get connected?

Unregistered August 31st, 2002 04:12 PM

Yep same problem here...

10.2 and Limewire 2.5.5 does not seem to be working.

However i have another computer on this network (10.1.5) and it all seems to be working fine, so we can rule out the ISP conspiracy.

I wonder if 10.2 is blocking some kind of port???

:(

I spoke with Apple tech support for an hour or two this afternoon and got to level three or four techs, they had me working on all sorts of ports and firewall stuff. They stated that there must be a major conflict in 10.2 and we need to contact Limewire Support and let them know the problems! It worked perfectly on OS X.1.5 but no dice in X.2

Hmmmmmm

Seems to be working for me.

I've DL'd various sit, zip, mpg, asf, mp3 files and they all seem to be fine. I'm diggin' Jaguar. Everything seems faster. It even seems to have optimized my RAM when I play quicktime files. I can open several at a time without buffering.

just add 208.239.76.100 in the connection tab and remove router.limewire.com

that should work at the moment

Limewire-Jaguar 10.2

Yesterday I couldn't connect at first. Then suddenly it works-without changing something on my computer. It works for a few hours. Then -not connected. No chance to connect. Today nothing works.
I think it is a limewire-server problem or something like that. I feel it is not caused from OS X 10.2.

I'm using 10.2 Jaguar and Limewire works perfectly,

connects every time, downloads work, still bloody slow though.

Unregistered September 14th, 2002 09:34 AM

Using Jaguar and LW 2.5.5 and it works like a champ. It's almost like having Napster back.

Unregistered September 20th, 2002 11:55 PM

I've been using limewire since version 1.7b and I've now just uninstalled it off of my computer entirely.

I'm running jaguar and limewire crashes my computer completely at random intervals. Older versions of limewire did as well, just not as frequently as the latest. I can't even load the program completely before it causes my computer to completely hang.

Older limewire versions worked and downloaded quite well, but they would cause my computer to crash as well.

It's quite strange because other than limewire my computer's been completely stable... ohwell. I'm going to search for a temporary replacement until the next version comes out...

Freezes on OS X

I also have the problem of my Mac freezing when using LimeWire. I've tried reinstalling and I've just upgraded to LimeWire 2.6 - still causes the computer to hang (required hitting the reset button to restart!).

Most of the time it hangs while loading. Sometimes it makes it thru the load process, and then it crashes> Once the crashes, all user interface is dead. I did notice that Limewire continues to operate in the background (I can see the lights on my cable modem blinking), but the screen is frozen. One other symptom is that the "Connections" tab is not visable and the Connections menu item is grayed out.

Is anyone else experiancing this? Is there a work around?

Thanks,
Tim

Jaguar Problems

Just loaded LimeWire 2.6 tonight. Seems to be working ok to this point all but the connections tab. Haven't froze up yet as happened with 2.5.... but it is yet early.
Anyone found the solutions to tabs & freezes?

Re: Freezes on OS X

Limewire 2.6 with Jaguar is horrible. It is completely sticky and it effects the whole computer. Forget about launching other programs, I can't even open a new window.

HELP!!!!

changing player to iTunes

hello-

i think i can help.

go to your preferences menu in Limewire, and go to Player. disable Limewire player and iTunes should take over if you've set iTunes to be your default player for downloaded material. if you haven't, go to iTunes preferences to do so.

HELP!!!!

I believe I had similar problems w/ that version. Download the latest version 2.7.2 and try that. It works flawlessly on my machine running 10.2.1.

Hope this helps....
