Smile 2.6.0 problems & fixes

Since 2.6.0 has been posted for several hours now, we might as well get started.

A good thing is that the connectivity seems much better. The GB available grew slowly, but soon enough reached 12 TB, and has varied from 2.5 to 12 TB since.

I am seeing a greater variety in clients downloading. More BearShare and Gnucleus, plus now I see Shareazza and Java 1.3.1 (is this a Gnutella client?) which I had never noticed before.

Uploads seems slower, but I suspect that may be because the larger network includes connections to clients at a greater distance with consequently slower connections.

A bad thing is since launching 2.6.0, my system clock has frozen, at least the value shown on the menu bar has not changed. The time value in the Classic menu bar has updated. It is not clear to me if this is a problem with LimeWire, with Classic, or some sort of interaction between the two.

Maybe that explains why it is not on my LimeWire Pro page.

I got it from http://www.macupdate.com/ where it was listed yesterday as the newest version.

The version number on LimeWire 2.6.0 contains no indication that I saw that it is a beta. Hey LimeWire writers, calling this "LimeWire 2.6.0b1" might be helpful.
