why does limewire osx suck so badly? for me limewire in osx turns the whole system to CRAP. everything is so painfully slow that doing anything but using limewire is next to impossible. this hasn't changed at all, ever, and it really ****** me off. why does this have to be the only program that works for mac users? why does it have to screw with the system SO MUCH?? the thing that gets me is that they want you to pay for this crappy software! is it just me, or does everyone running the os x version of limewire experience this crappiness? |
I suspect Java is at the root of LimeWire's suckiness, but it's also what allows it to run on so many platforms. I usually use LimeWire as my primary client, but play around with others such as phex or neo (a Mac OS-X kazaa client). If you want a Mac OS-X only solution that doesn't drag your whole system down to a near halt, then try acquisition. I downloaded my copy from xlife.org . As an added bonus, it's supported entirely by donations, so no banner ads or spy ware. It's not perfect, but what gnutella client is? |

um, you need to ask yourself an even more fundemental question - this is, why does OSX suck so much? why is OSX so slow and buggy? why does Apple have me spending 3 times as much money for a machine thats twice as slow as a PC running XP? why does OSX suck even on the brand new G4 dual 1GHz machine? (my machine). And why can't we mac people wake the hell up and come out of our shell of denial about what a disgrace to the modern world OSX is. It needs about 3 more years of retooling, debugging, and major overhauling/total scrapping before it's as fast as XP any day. But besides that minor glitch, Apple Rocks! |
Jackass OSX jagwire runs like a dream on my poxy imac 400 Your system has problems |
LW seems to work ok for me with only the major exception that so many of the files I download are corrupted....about 1 in 10 is good. I don't understand. |
