Question Internet connect keeps turning OFF

I use OSX 10.1.5 56K V90 modem running LW 2.7.13 What can be done about the internet connection being dropped consisantly? I am now using Internet Connection Keeper from http://alphaomega.software.free.fr and the connection stays on virtually forever, but not if only LW is running. If I am actively using a browser(Opera or IE) then LW tends to keep working[mostly]. I have spent a lot of time talking to Apple & the ISP{last 12days} and I get little real help. I got the Connection Keeper after the umpteenth person at the ISP finally told me that my connection gets turned off after 15 minutes of disuse. Therefore, does LW not get noticed by the ISP if it is just sitting there doing its stuff? Any help would be appreciated. thanx
