LW is so slow????

I want to use LW and have, but I cannot stand anymore the slow interruptions it creates while I am using it.

I tried to set minimum numbers in the settings, and set rarely are lurkers allowed.

What causes LW to seem take over everything while it is on?

Please advise me on correct settings if that's the problem.

I was having trouble with the 2.9.* releases freezing my internet connections when it switched to and from Ultrapeer mode. Yesterday's 2.9.7 Pro release seems to have fixed the problem, or you could try checking "disable Ultrapeer" in the prefs.

btw--I sense quite a few sharers might look like "lurkers" because they have reduced the number of files they're sharing while all the recent changes are going on. I left my upload prefs at the default settings since they don't seem to bother my little 700 iBook and its 384 MB of ram. Nice set-up you've got.
