Default Can't find correct "Shared" file to add more of my own Mp3s

Where is this Shared file to which I should add songs of mine that I wish to share, in addition to the ones I have downloaded with Limewire?

I just spent an hour searching and reading FAQs, etc. I think if it hasn't turned up yet I ain't a-gonna find it without help!

So...HELP anybody????

Thanx!
Paula

Default What, more problems?

Open the Limewire Preferences and look at the dialogue box under the tag "Saving", and, for the Saving Directory, you should see something like /Users/paula/Shared. Whatever it says is the address for finding the Shared file by clicking on your HD and tracking it down directly. Once there, drag and drop whatever files you want to transfer. However, the more files you transfer, the longer the processing time. Before Limewire can share these files with the world, they have to be hashed. I offer an average of 2000 files at any one time and it takes about four to five minutes to kick Limewire into life again after a machine restart or log out.

Right---that's the first thing I did...but there's nothing there...so --- to make sure I understand---MY original shared folder will have in it ONLY files I add on my own...Limewire will hold the others in its own shared space somewhere?

I was just baffled to see that it was empty, when I've received several songs already...

Thanks,
Paula

Default Next step

Since all the downloaded files should be in the Shared folder, use either Finder or Sherlock (which should both be in your dock) and enter the names of any files you remember. That should discover where they are now. If that does not work, there would be grounds for concern that you have somehow "lost" these files permanently. If you need to send more bad news on this front, start by telling me whether you can actually play these tracks using iTunes or whichever internal MP3 player you prefer.
