Ok, here's the story.. I have been using the previous versions of Limewire (free version) for awhile now, and only until recently I recieved a message on startup of Limewire saying there is a new version out and would you like to upgrade? so I figure sure why not. I download the new version, and it loads up fine until it gets to the part where it says "upgrade to limewire pro?" I click later, and always like a second after that, the program crashes and I get the box that says: The application Limewire has unexpectedly quit, The system and other applications have not been affected. I don't know why its doing this, Limewire has always run smoothly on my computer, and I never had this problem before I upgraded. I am running OS X Jaguar 10.2.8, and I did all my software updates, INCLUDING the Java 1.4.1 update. Can anyone help me?
P.S. Or does anyone have the old version of Limewire or know where I can download it? I would rather use the old version that works instead of having nothing at all... Thanks!! |

Hi Mikey,
Try using the latest 3.6.0 beta and see if that helps at all? You can find it at http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml Thanks. |

Thanks for the help, but I just tried it and I had the same result... any other ideas? THANKS!
P.S. What could the problem be? It seems like some people aren't having this problem and are running Limewire fine... |

Try completely uninstalling Limewire...move the Limewire folder to the trash and the Preferences folder as well. ~note this will remove all LM files including preferences...if you have special settings i.e. port settings, etc make sure you remember what they are~ this will not remove files you've downloaded unless you have them saved there.
Once you've done so repair permissions on your hard drive (simply a precausion)...then reinstall LM 2.3.8 AND repair permissions again. |
