LW doesn't load in MacOS 10.3

I just updated to MacOS 10.3 last night and LimeWire won't start up. It acts like it is and the icon bounces in the Dock but no program loads and to quit out of whatever started you have to Force Quit. Anyone else having this problem? Any Updates I need? Any ideas?

i'm having the same issues. tried to run the qt downgrade to get my old java back, but apparently when apple posted that it worked for versions "10.2 and higher" it wasn't anticipating panther. during the installation process it tells me that my drive has been grayed out because i'm running 10.3.

Here's why this is happening: because LIMEWIRE SUCKS and LIMEWIRE SUPPORT SUCKS. I had the same problem in 10.2.8, and they were no help in fixing it.

Salut, do a search on all your hd for limewire and thrash all what in the folder preferences. Dl LW 3.6.6 from the website and reinstall it. (note that an osx install over a previous intallation in BAD, the best option when installing is to archive and install -it keeps all your documents and such-) for more help installing osx go to http://macbidouille.com/article.php?id=137 the best mac site out there.

Bonne chance, LW works great in my 10.3.

Wow. All you people have Panther already?

I was thinking of at least waiting a week or so to make sure there aren't any bugs or problems that would affect my current system.

Same thing, LW not loading on X.3

Tried the search and destroy and then reinstall. No dice. Please tell me that we do not have to do a clean install of X.3!

There are apparently problems with using Java programs with OSX 10.3. Apple is aware of the problems and is currently working on fixes, which will presumably be available on Software Update ASAP.

If you're a user having problems due to java (type "java -version" at a terminal prompt and it will say something about "HotSpot not at correct virtual address. Sharing disabled" on the first line), follow the instructions to fix java at topic "Discussions > Mac OS X > Mac OS X v10.3 Panther > Installation and Setup > Java 1.41 does not run after 10.3 upgrade" on the apple.com discussion boards. Specifically, go to a terminal prompt and type "sudo mv /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVMOld.framework" (BE CAREFUL! the only spaces in this command are after "sudo", "mv", and "...JavaVM.framework") and enter the root user password when prompted. Now reinstall Panther (only required base files and the BSD subsystem necessary) and Limewire (and the rest of your Java 1.4.1 apps) should work perfectly. If a Panther-broken-java was your problem in the first place, that is; there are apparently unrelated problems that other folks are having.

I'm running Panther at home and at work. LW works at home, but not here at work. I might have an older version at home, I'll have to check. Is there anywhere within this site I can download an older version that might work?
