LW 3.9.2 Beta "runs okay" on Mac 10.3.3

I upgraded to MAC 10.3.3 this weekend and found LW 3.8.7 would crash on launch or crash after successful launch as soon as I tried to begin a search. Frustrated, I saw the LW 3.9.2 Beta and decided to "try it". It runs fine, and I'm downloading stuff just fine off LW as I write this -- no crashing. I'm also going to update my Java 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 in a bit. Maybe this helps someone?
