You're welcome gaet

You shouldn't need to reinstall LW, since it works. The Java crashes suggest that your OS 10.2 should be tuned up first.

The Safe Boot/Repair Permissions/Run Software Update is just good user System maintenance, and is a good habit to practise. Here are some details and more links.

btw, http://www.macattorney.com/tutorial.html is a really handy link to troubleshooting Jaguar.

How to start in safe boot mode? Short answer: restart and hold down the shift key just after the startup chime http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393
more details about safe boot mode here

For Repair Permissions
Quote:
Open Disk Utility and click the First Aid tab. Select the disk or volume, then click Repair Disk Permissions to manage access to the disk.
Repairing permissions on the startup disk or volume is a good practice to keep file permissions in order on the disk. If your computer's performance slows down a lot, repairing disk permissions may solve this problem. Using Disk Utility to repair permissions is also a good maintenance task after updating the system or installing new software.

For updating your OS X software
Quote:
Open System Preferences and click Software Update, then click Check Now. If updates are available, the Software Update window opens. In the window, click the checkbox to select the items you want to install, then click Install. Type an administrator name and password.

If you decide to uninstall Limewire completely to make sure you can start fresh, see here
