burning mp3s

ok, so this might sound stupid, but i cant burn the songs I downloaded onto a
CD-R disc. Is it because it is made for an MP3 player?? If so is there any way possible i could burn onto a regular CD-R?

Please say what you are using for your 'burning' application.
Also, details of your system will always help to speed up replies with possible answers/solutions...

If you are new to all of this and you are able to use CD-RW (ReWritable disks), than it would be best for you to 'practice' with CD-RWs... Less money and fewer 'coasters' !

If you're using OSX (which you should since you are posting here) then iTunes burns the songs into CDs that are then readable by any kind of regular CD player.
Just make a new playlist, then add all the songs that you wanna burn and then click the "burn" button on the top right of the iTunes window. If there's not enough space then it will ask you to make multiple CDs.
