LW v 4.04 is a DOG!!!!!!

after every action, especially hitting download, the program hangs for upwards of 10sec.

i'm running a G4 733 with a gig of ram and with only quick time running.

something is very wrong! i have been using LW for three years now, and have never seen anything like this.

Do you have the newest Java? Run a System update. If you do, uninstall it and reinstall.

Which OS are you using; ie: OS9/10.?.? ?
I also use 4.0.4 on the same model as you (a bit more ram) but I've never had problems with it. Did you totally uninstall the previous version incl. the preferences? It sounds like a Java issue.

i have the latest java.

how do i get rid of LW. i did a search for Limewire, and deleted all i found. is that enough?

anyway, i reinstalled LW, but to no avail. i have a lot of downloads in the wings, could this be the problem.

again, once i hit download, i can count up to nine-one-hundred before it turns to a folder and i can download another file

Sometimes it can help to clear your entire dnld & incomplete list, if that's what you were asking. This was certainly true in the earlier versions. Giving it a clean slate so to speak (& also deleting the prefs in the incomplete folder & prefs folder (labelled .limewire) Has anything else changed since you notices this change? (OS update/new apps, etc.)

There's 2 thing s I might suggest, again suggesting some reference reading for a few threads that may hold the solution:

Hope these suggestions work.

thanks, i'll give it a try.
my powerbook is doing just fine with the same set up, minus the long list of downloads.
