Garbled playback Downloaded some songs this morning and for the first time I'm getting an unrecognizable garbled playback in iTunes. The LW player won't play them at all. Is this some new coding to prevent sharing? |
Were they mp3 or m4a files? The extension & icon could be a telling factor. It 'might' also be they're encoded with a type that iTunes is not fully compatible with. iTunes cannot play all mp3 types out there. That's why I have a 2nd mac mp3 player that has xtra codecs. Tell us what the extension is. Oh & if the mp3 originated from a microsoft app then there's a reasonable chance you're right! |
Get info says: mp3 audio file |
It really is difficult to guess from a distance. I suspect it's either copyright control or a codec issue. The other mp3 player I use to play those "xtra" types of mp3's is Audion. See if you can get a hold of audion 3 (for osx, or 2.6 for classic). And I did a sear' & I foun many o' them under apps! I think there's at least one other mac mp3 player that can do the job but I've never tried it. To reiterate, iTunes does NOT have the ability to play 'all' mp3 types! Hope that's helpful advice. |
