Cannot play downloaded files

I recently puchased and dowloaded the upgrade to limewire, limewire pro, but I cannot play or "launch' the files that I dowloaded on pro. The regular limewire program, not the pro, would just transfer those downloaded files to itunes so that i can play them but the pro does not. Also is there any way to integrate both shared files from the regular limewire and limewire pro. I am getting increasingly frustrated with not being able to access or play the downloaded files on pro since i paid 20 bucks for it.

thanks

Make sure iTunes support is enabled. Go to LW's Prefs & iTunes & tick Enable iTunes.
You should be able to swap b/w both apps using the same prefs. It does for me (I use 4.0.4 & 4.1.5 beta.) As soon as I installed LW 4.1.5 & opened it, it started using 4.0.4's prefs & continued on with its incompletes, etc. I suspect you've changed the prefs when you installed it or installed it in a different location. I have my 2 LW app folders side by side & they both use the same Dwnld & incomplete folders.

Please continue the same thread & press 'Post Reply' & not new thread when discussing same issue. You can find the LW Prefs under the 'Limewire' name at top left of screen. (See below.) I was refering to LW's Prefs. This image might be slightly different to yours b/c it's from the LW 4.1.5 beta. Yours will probably say 'Enable iTunes Support'. You can also use a keyboard shortcut as in CMD+, (that's apple key & comma) to open LW's Prefs.

As LOTR has adequately put it, don't start new threads to discuss the same issue. You can delete the thread by going to it and clicking "Edit", then "Delete".

We are able to merge the threads - see admin options. :)

cannot play downloaded files

Hi

I took your advice and tried to access the preferences menu in LW Pro but there is no said specific "Preferences" tab anywere to be found. The tool bar at the very top only has the apple icon and a "help" menu. Even if i click on the apple icon there is no tab for preferences. So on the LW Pro page I went to the "tools" then "options" menu for which there is no itunes tab to click so that i can enable it. Remember that my version of limewire is in some classic mode. Could I please get instructions with that in mind. Also is there a way to get LW pro off this "classic" set up? I am also running it on mac osx 9.2 if that helps any.

Thanks again and sorry for the continued difficulty,

So now we know. There's separate versions for OS9 & OSX. If you want to run it in OSX, then you'll need to go back to your personal dwnld page at LW's website & dwnld the OSX version. Sorry my instructions were for OSX b/c I guessed being a pro user you'd be using OSX. LW developers are no longer developing the OS9 (Classic) version of LW. What's more, the classic version LW does not have very good iTunes support. In fact as you found out, there's probably no options for it. The classic's prefs are as you found, in the Options section. Since it sounds like you have a dual OS setup, it's NOT a good idea to run the classic/os9 LW under the 'classic' environment whilst under OSX if you know what I mean (u can run os9 apps in the 'classic' env whilst under the management of osx.)
